Adventurer of the Month-Aron Ralston-February 2010

Anyone that goes outside and has a heartbeat should read his book, "Between a Rock & a Hard Place", the rivoting and stomach turning story of him being trapped in a slot canyon and cutting off his own arm to ensure his survival. He's climbing Everest this September. With one arm.

Alaska Wilderness Classic

Alaska Wilderness Classic-Started in 1982 by Roman Dial this "race" goes a distance of 150-275 miles in the Alaskan wilderness. You are given a starting point and a finish point with only one check in point along the way. You have to hike, run, bike, packraft or reach the end point any way you can without using highways and motorized transportation. This race is not for money or fame. Hardly anyone has ever heard of it and only 15-35 people enter each year with less than half ever finishing. Only 3 non-Alaskan's have won in it's 27 year existence. The winner comes in under 4 days out...easily one of the toughest races in the World.
