We had a better turnout and the results of three weeks of running is already starting to pay off with some of the team. We were able to make it over a mile before taking a quick break and finished 3.5 miles in 42 minutes with only three breaks. A vast improvement over the first week. More good things to come in the coming weeks as the conditioning improves. Now on to the entry fee of $1200 and how we are going to get that squared away by Dec. 15th.
Let the fallout begin....from five people to one in the second week. Nevertheless we ran and as my quads were and are still anniliated from 29 brutal miles Saturday I was happy to hold it to 2 miles in 20 minutes. Hopefully next week has a better turnout to keep the momenteum going!
Training Day #1 for the Ragnar Relay was this week. We had a good turnout with four of our females making the run. Starting out we wanted to go at a nice and easy pace and keep the mileage down. We finished 3.5 miles all together and the excitement is high! Next Tuesday the HVH Runners Club continues. Hopefully we can get more people out and exercising!
I got this great idea from a coworker of this race that relays from Prescott, Arizona to Mesa, Arizona in 24 hours. It looked really fun and certainly something different so I went out and found a team of coworkers willing to get in shape and bust out the 18-21 miles each of the 12 of us would need. The following posts are weekly updates on the group training as we progress throughout and into the race itself.
