Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim-October 16th, 2010

As there is not an "official" organized race of the Grand Canyon R2R2R this is a group run down the Bright Angel trail up the Kaibab to the North Rim and back down and up the Bright Angel to the top of the south. Right around 47 miles we plan in doing between 12-14 hours. This will be my third R2R2R trip but first running.
After tearing ligaments in my left ankle in May playing soccer I had to miss out on the spring running of R2R2R. This year there is a smaller group but hopefully with cooler weather and better fall colors on the trees. 3am departure from Phoenix and a hopeful start time of 7am. Buddy system at all times. Should be Honey, Paul, Anthony Culpepper, myself and maybe a few others. Javalina being the following weekend holds a few out of the run but just have to pick a date and go with it. Very excited to run this trail despite each time saying, "I never want to do this again." Either way, the Grand Canyon is never anything less than Epic and I find myself drawn to this Canyon more and more...
